PRINCE2® Project Management Training

Overview/Description

PRINCE2® is a generic, best-practice, process-based approach to project management, and is one of the world's premier project management methods. PRINCE2 provides an easily tailored and scaleable project management methodology for the management of all types of projects. The method is the de-facto standard for project management in the UK and is practiced worldwide.

Avion WBT's Tutor is a comprehensive computer-based training (CBT) course for PRINCE2®, consisting of 17 multi-media tutorial-style lessons, an introduction and a lesson-end proficiency check, and a number of extras to help you learn PRINCE2. Avion WBT, based in the UK, is a PRINCE2 Accredited Training Organisation (ATO), Registration Number P2ATO/060, and specialises in distance learning for PRINCE2. These training materials meet APMG standards of accreditation, and the administration can be relied upon to see that the training is delivered and managed as advertised. The training is provided by Integrity eLearning and is delivered by password-protected on-line account.

The Tutor course for PRINCE2® is designed to meet the APM Group PRINCE2 Syllabus 2005, and has been reviewed and passed (accredited) as meeting that syllabus at least to Foundation level by APM Group as the official standards authority for PRINCE2.

The standard enrollment for Tutor OnLine is six months, with automated reminders of Target and Completion dates being emailed to you by the LMS. You must be connected to the Internet with suitable computer equipment while logged into the course. We suggest that you plan your study time as is convenient to you, perhaps over 4 to 6 weeks. You will be able to print a personal Certificate of Attainment at any time. The Certificate of Attainment can be retrieved even after your enrollment has expired.

Target Audience

Project Managers worldwide who are interested in PRINCE2 - either to earn PDUs or to become certified.

A Certificate of Attainment is included, and the course is fully accredited by APM Group, the PRINCE2 accreditation authority. Taking this course makes passing the APM Group examinations so much easier!

Course Features

  • Personal Preferences - choices about how a multimedia lesson performs for you, such as narrative volume, Internet connection, the way MP3 narrative is streamed, a choice between text and narrative (or both), background colours to suit your taste, selection of prompts, and how the lesson behaves if you back up to review something
  • Lesson Modes - Browse mode (turns off the audio narrative, replacing it with on-screen text) or Normal mode (cannot skip past questions, but must answer correctly)
  • Checking Your Understanding - multi-choice questions throughout to ensure that you have understood a point (consistent with the format of the APM Group Foundation examination of 75 multi-choice questions), with immediate indication of whether your choice is correct or incorrect, and an 'Explain' button for a detailed explanation of the answer; short progress check at the end of each lesson, that normally includes the same questions that were presented throughout the lesson, but with no indication of whether you have made the correct selection until scoring the test (The result of this test determines whether you have completed the lesson or not.)
  • Glossary - well-defined PRINCE2 terms, with well over 100 terms listed, never more than one click away
  • Resources - detailed on-screen pop-up references for: the 8 processes, linking together the 45 sub-processes in an interactive thread with a retraceable breadcrumb trail; animation of the 8 components, reassembled on demand as they occur in each process; step-by-step elaboration of the 3 PRINCE2 techniques; 36 full Product Description outlines; 10 Project Management Team role responsibilities

  • Lesson and Course Notes - Lesson notes (specific to your current lesson) and Course notes (accessible from any lesson in the course) are just one click away at any time; append the text of the spoken narrative for the current frame straight into your notes, and edit that to pick out the main points; print notes at any time by publishing them in your browser; notes remain available, even though when on-line enrollment ends
  • Personalized Certificates - print Certificate of Attainment in choice in three formats (some are suitable for framing); certificates available even after expiration of subscription
